What Tasti Desk does for restaurants
- Labour against forecast. Front and back of house on one week view, with labour % of forecast sales per day while you build it, and BC overtime and rest rules checked as you go.
- Supplier invoices. Each location gets its own bills address. Produce, protein, dry goods and liquor invoices are read line by line, price rises are flagged on the day, and what's due is sorted soonest first.
- Recipe and plate cost. Every dish costed from the latest invoices against your target, so you see which plates drifted and the price that keeps your margin.
- Prime cost per location. Sales, labour, food cost and prime cost side by side for up to five locations.
- Certificates and paperwork. FoodSafe and Serving It Right certificates with expiry warnings in the morning note, a printable binder for inspections, and a clean export for your bookkeeper.
The features behind it
What it looks like day to day
A typical week: you build next week's schedule against the forecast, Desk flags a cook who would go into daily overtime on Friday, you forward the produce invoice and see that avocados went up, and Avo suggests the menu price that keeps the guacamole at target. Nothing changes until you confirm.
POS and setup
Square connects in a few minutes and brings in real sales, menu and team. On another POS, the founder builds the connection on request; schedule, team, bills, menu and stock work either way. Setup takes about 15 minutes: name the venue, connect the POS, bring in the team, forward the first bill.
Price
$149 CAD per location a month, or $1,490 CAD a year. Everything is in one plan, for 1 to 5 locations. The first 30 days are free and no card is needed. Founding 20: the first 20 venues in Vancouver pay $99 CAD a month, for good.
Who makes it
Tasti Desk is built by Tasti.io in Burnaby, BC, by founder Yuriy Romanyuk, a former restaurant operator in Vancouver. Your data is stored in Canada and never sold. See also: Tasti Desk in Metro Vancouver, BC scheduling rules in plain words and how Desk compares. Prices and plans: pricing.
